Homelessness Community
Action Project

This project centers on community-based research into issues of homelessness and precarious housing, undertaken in collaboration with existing service organizations.

Key outcomes of the project will include:

  • A local awareness campaign across social and print media, focused on reducing stigma and helping the broader community understand the complex and intersecting factors that contribute to homelessness.

  • The development of a Homelessness Action Initiative Package—a community toolkit containing assessment tools, local resource listings, and educational materials. This package will be designed to support individuals who are experiencing or at risk of precarious housing and will be accessible for use either independently or with guidance.

Recognizing the demands on partner organizations, the project is committed to minimizing administrative burden throughout each phase.

As a first step, a short survey will be distributed in the coming weeks to gather information on the types of homelessness-related data currently being collected by local service providers. Please click below to access the survey and share your insights!

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 8 Territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and traveling route to the Cree, Dene, and Dane-zaa (Beaver), and Metis. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
