Peter Gzowski began the Peter Gzowski Invitationals (PGIs) in 1986 to raise money for and awareness about the literacy challenges facing the country. Following Peter’s death in 2002, the PGFL, created with an endowment from the federal government, took on responsibility for the PGIs.

Our vision is to see resilient community-based neighbourhood houses that support and advocate for community capacity building, social development, and systemic change.

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 8 Territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and traveling route to the Cree, Dene, and Dane-zaa (Beaver), and Metis. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
