Position: English as a Second Language Instructor

​

5 hours per week, $25-$27/hr

​

 

Overview:

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor will work primarily to create a supportive learning environment to help students meet their English learning goals. The position requires preparing course materials and designing lessons covering all English language aspects (speaking, writing, and comprehending) in a class setting.

​

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create lesson plans

  • Organize learning materials

  • Create a supportive and positive learning environment

  • Grade student's work

  • Maintain records of student's attendance and grades

  • Evaluate each student's progress

​

Position requirements:

  • Proficiency in English

  • Previous experience working with learners of diverse backgrounds and cultures

  • Great organizational and communication skills

  • Degree in English language/ English literature or a similar field

  • A vulnerable sector criminal records check is required  ​
