Where I am from?

"Where are you from" - one of the most common questions you hear as an immigrant in Canada. It is amazing to realize how different the places and cultures we are coming from are, and the commonalities we find in talking, laughing and telling our stories. No matter where we go, Fort Nelson will become a part of our story - cold snowy winters and northern lights, bears, unbelievable long distances, stunning landscapes of the Northern Rockies, and unique people- some of who will always have a place in our hearts.

We created this page to build bridges between countries and continents and introduce the amazing cultural diversity the Fort Nelson community is lucky to hold.

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 8 Territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and traveling route to the Cree, Dene, and Dane-zaa (Beaver), and Metis. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
